Job Summary

Role: End User Computing Engineer IV

Location: Dallas TX (Hybrid)

Type: Contract

Overview:

  • The End User Computing Engineer IV under the general direction from the Lead End User Computing Engineer will focus on the support of critical services with an emphasis on becoming a subject matter expert on more than one.
  • Additionally these engineers will focus on sustainability and improvement of processes including any or all of the following duties: environment architecture/re-architecture along with task automation to improve process efficiency basic project management tasks mentorship of lower level engineers documenting managed environments evening and weekend deployments maintenance of ticketing queues audit and compliance remediation balancing multiple projects across more than one team and senior escalation for after-hours production issues.

  • Resolve incident management tickets as they arise and ensure timely resolution
  • Conduct audit compliance assessments and initiate corrective action Provide technical support for projects as directed
  • Perform critical system changes after business hours
  • Adhere to all company authored policy procedure and standards documents
  • Author policy procedure and standards documents based on industry best practices and personal research and experience
  • Work closely with End User Computing technology and service peers and management emphasizing collaboration and joint effort to ensure that the needs and expectations of organizational stakeholders business partners external customers and third party organizations are met and/or exceeded
  • Transfer knowledge via documentation and training to End User Computing operations teams
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation for providing after-hours support

Day to Day job Duties:

  • Support the End User Computing operational teams in fulfilling service requests and resolving incidents in a timely manner to assure business client satisfaction.
  • Perform in-depth root cause analysis of end user computing problems and define actions for timely resolution and corrective actions.
  • Work with key vendors as necessary to assist with root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • Plan architect design document and implement end user computing platforms operating systems enterprise software and peripheral upgrades to improve services provided to business clients.
  • Conduct proof of concepts as appropriate to confirm and refine designs.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to existing processes and automate time-consuming tasks.
  • Plan prioritize and schedule assigned software and/or hardware changes.
  • Perform or assist with routine end user computing administration tasks to assure reliable operation of the global end user computing platforms including routine operating systems and software updates.
  • Participate in company-provided training and perform independent training as appropriate.

  • Provide application/Windows OS installation configuration patching and data reporting (application install status client health etc.) leveraging Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Lead and plan upgrades changes or implementations for SCCM components while following established change control procedures.
  • Coordinate and implement configuration management for projects/organization and maintain products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Manage Windows client image application packaging scripting and related project work.
  • Perform monthly deployment of security patches to Windows servers.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of users from executives to individual contributors.
  • Develop and implement solid scalable and flexible solutions to support clients migrating and transforming from commodity hardware to Oracle Exastack.
  • Partner with our Sales organization to help sell Exastack related services by providing pre-sales support activities such as drafting proposals providing effort estimations and participating in client presentations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed Oracle Engineered Systems (Exadata Exalogic and Super Clusters)
  • Leverage extensive Oracle implementation experience to lead the delivery of the Exastack specific engagements
  • Engage Oracles sales alliance and product teams to develop joint solutions and go to market activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 8 Years of Experience in End User Computing SCCM Management.
  • 5 years of experience in Azure/AWS and Packaging and scripting tools such as PowerShell
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for rapid and accurate problem evaluation.
  • Experience with security patch management and reporting on both Windows clients and Windows Servers.
  • Experience with packaging and scripting tools such as PowerShell
  • Ability to approach problems with creativity and innovation.
  • Willingness to develop subject matter expertise in multiple support areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
