Job Title: Senior Director / Vice President Accounts Receivable Billing and Collections

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute the vision and strategy for AR billing and collections aligned with corporate goals.
Drive improvements in DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) cash application accuracy and bad debt reduction.
Serve as a thought partner to the CFO on credit risk revenue cycle optimization and financial policy.
Operational Excellence:
Lead end-to-end billing operations to ensure accurate and timely invoicing across all revenue streams.
Oversee collections and cash application teams to drive timely payments and manage customer credit risk.
Implement and maintain internal controls SOX compliance and audit readiness across AR processes.
Partner with sales legal and operations to ensure contract-to-cash integrity and reduce billing disputes.
People Management & Leadership:
Lead coach and develop a high-performing global team of AR billing and collections professionals.
Foster a culture of accountability continuous improvement and customer-centric operations.
Drive talent development succession planning and performance management within the department.
Technology & Process Improvement:
Champion the use of automation AI and analytics to improve efficiency and visibility.
Lead ERP system upgrades enhancements and integrations related to billing and AR functions.
Identify process gaps and implement best practices to scale operations efficiently.
Reporting & Analytics:
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to manage AR performance.
Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on aging reports collections trends and risks.
Forecast cash inflows and support treasury functions with actionable AR insights.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (Masters/CA/ACCA/CMA/ MBA mandatory).
10 years of progressive experience in AR billing or collections with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record of improving AR metrics in complex high-volume environments.
Deep understanding of GAAP revenue recognition and credit risk management.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle NetSuite) and AR automation tools.
Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach when necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in insert industry: SaaS manufacturing healthcare etc..
Global operations experience managing distributed teams and international billing/collections.
Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
Experience with contract lifecycle management and pricing/billing models.
