POSITION DESCRIPTION:The vocational paraprofessional works with the shop teacher to ensure that all students can be successful in their program. Paraprofessionals provide students with additional support assist the shop teacher in maintaining a safe learning environment and tailor activities to meet students individual addition they must have a genuine passion for working with a diverse student population to help all students succeed. Vocational paraprofessionals may be asked to cover multiple areas throughout the day.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professional and reliable
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong technology skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and carry out initiatives as assigned by your supervisor(s)
- Ability to be flexible with job assignments and performance responsibilities
- Ability to be at their assigned post from 7 am to 3 pm daily
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- License or experience preferred
OUR STUDENTS: Southeastern is a diverse multicultural vocational technical high school that serves over 1600 students from nine communitities. Our students balance the rigors of a complete academic course of studies with technical skill training in over 20 career majors. Upon graduation our students are prepared for college career or additional technical training.
COMPENSATION: Paraprofessionals are school-year employees and are paid in 21 equal installments from September - June or from the initial start date to the end date.
