Position:Cafeteria Assistant Cook Location:Quaboag Regional Middle High School Reports to: Director of Food ServicesJob Goal:To provide meals to each child with the highest nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness cheerfulness and personal :Required: Massachusetts ServSafe Certified or requirement to obtain certification within 3 months of hire. Demonstrate aptitude for successful performance of tasks listed. Preferred: Two (2) or more years of previous K12 food service experience. Must have knowledge of food service equipment and of institutional meal preparationAppropriate oral & written communication skills Responsibilities:Responsible for knowing all aspects of the Head Cooks position and be able to perform that job in the absence of the Head Cook. This includes but not limited to:Assisting Head Cook in training each person in the kitchen to a specific job in the meal preparation process. Maintaining proper HACCP procedures Preparation and serving of mealsGeneral operation of the program (POS computer washing pots operating dish machine serving students and staff cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and serving lines etc.) Checking in orders putting stock away and inventory controlPreparation of daily production control sheet indicating all items used in food a list of all food needed weekly to the Director of Food Services Placing orders weekly for produce milk bread paper goods and cleaning leftovers in the best possible mannerPerforms duties as necessary or assigned by the Director of Food Requirements:The position requires a moderate amount of walking standing sitting climbing stairs and a step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion such as reaching bending twisting grasping pushing and pulling objects. The position requires lifting of 40-60 pounds on a frequent basis. The occupant is expected to wear vinyl gloves and proper hair restraints when serving and working with food.
