Role Summary:
Extensive technical and/or business knowledge within the Corporate Actions and Income Processing function. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues. Liaises with the rest of the business to improve efficiency effectiveness and productivity. The Entitlements team provides operational support in respect of corporate actions and income processing for Northern Trusts clients.
Major Duties:
Ensure a strong risk and control culture exists amongst the team such that operational risk is inherently reduced and any potential risk situations are promptly identified and escalated
Assist staff with technical queries and provide coaching in the research and resolution of complex issues
Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
Participate in and contribute to system enhancement projects and oversee process improvement initiatives through to implementation
Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function
As subject area expert provides comprehensive in-depth consulting and partners at a high technical level
Carries out activities that are large in scope cross-functional and technically difficult
Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development and execution of strategic direction of business function activities
Knowledge:
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Strong technical knowledge required in respect of the principles and market practices of Corporate Actions and Income Processing
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and work with minimum supervision.
Good PC Skills particularly Excel.
FSA Training & Competence Threshold Competent is advantageous.
Experience:
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required
Extensive knowledge and experience in corporate actions operations is required
