The Senior Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supply chain project quality activities for GEH Advanced Nuclear projects in Japan.

Roles and Responsibilities
Business Process Management Systems (e.g. Quality Management Systems Integrated Management Systems). Work to develop implement and monitor overall process mapping for quality improvement purposes. Standardization of processes tools and performance management system.
Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
Skilled influencer able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Impacts approaches projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality efficiency and effectiveness of own team. These jobs have significant input into their priorities. Jobs at this level tend to be covered by professional practices and policies but these are shaped by the role. Working within broad guidelines and policies roles at this level have moderate autonomy requiring high levels of evaluative judgment.

Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on quality control of the procurement activities.
Work proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements including development of inspection verification and qualification processes in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the GEH and customer quality requirements.
Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
Execute supplier quality surveillance program for New Reactor activities.
Disposition of supplier non-conforming products.
Write and review technical quality documents plans and procedures
Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes.
Must be willing to travel to supplier and customer sites as required. (Up to 50%)
Required Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering manufacturing manufacturing engineering support or working in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity.
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document plan market and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Bachelors degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of Nuclear customers industry programs and competitive environments.
Exhibit a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
Knowledge of Nuclear welding and non-destructive examination processes
Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment components or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships.
Experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B ASME NQA-1 CSA N299 CSA N285 and ISO-9001 standards.
Previous or Current Quality Lead Auditor certification.
