In a nutshell
As a Service Designer at Picnic youll shape how millions of families experience grocery shopping from planning their groceries and weekly meals to cooking and enjoying healthy delicious food together. Youll work hand in hand with Product Owners Designers UX Researchers Data Analysts Engineers and Business stakeholders to design every step of the customer journey.
Youll spend half your time running service design and research activities such as customer interviews journey mapping and usability testing. The other half youll focus on turning those insights into solutions that drive real customer impact. By bringing everyone at Picnic closer to our customers youll help create innovations that make everyday life simpler healthier and more sustainable.
Tricks of the trade
- Service design: Own the end-to-end customer experience and build deep customer understanding
- Testing & exploring: Develop test and refine new concepts that drive product and service initiatives
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers and other teams to prototype and evaluate solutions every week
- Share insights: Document research present actionable insights to guide decision-making
- Customer focus: Be the face of Picnic and engage with customers
- Continuous improvement: Strive for continuous improvement to take our UX team to the next level
Your superpowers
- MSc. degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Design Human Computer Interaction Design or Product Design
- 0-4 years of experience as Service Designer
- Conceptual-analytical skills: able to understand complex flows connect business and technical perspectives and translate data into clear insights
- Ability to reason on high level about various topics to quickly understand and discuss both business and technical concepts
- Excellent communicator: You know how to facilitate workshops with anyone and know how to present service insights succinctly
- Flexibility: Agile approach and ability to learn on the go
- Creativity: Outside-the box thinking and passion for details
- Affinity for or previous experience with digital design is a plus
- Fluency in both Dutch and English. German and/or French are a plus
