Job Summary

The Marblehead High School JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach is responsible for leading and motivating a team of high school players to practice regularly compete in games and attend fundraising activities. The coach is expected to teach players various ice hockey skills and addition the coach will promote teamwork sportsmanshiprespect commitment integrity and responsibility. Below are the essential qualifications requirements and responsibilities of a JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach:QUALIFICATIONKnowledge of Ice Hockey techniques strategy and communication and people to mentor and motivate athletes providing guidance feedback and support to help them achieve their goalsOrganizational and management skills including the ability to schedule and plan practices and with Ice Hockey rules strategy and safety playing and or coaching Ice HockeyLeads by example regarding the promotion of sportsmanshipMust complete all Massachusetts coaching requirements which includes the NFHS Concussion CertificateMust complete Marblehead School District requirements: Fingerprinting CORI Background checkMust complete CPR/AED and First Aid CertificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEye-hand mind-eye coordination physical dexterity and the ability to bend stoop walk talk and sitBe exposed to heat humidity dust rain snow and other weather and adverse environmental ability to travel between locationsRESPONSIBILITIESMake practice plans and prepare the team to all practices and games including supervising on the bus to and from away matches. Communicate the teams practice and game schedule with the team and parents or guardians.
