POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager Inventory Programs the Manager of Inventory Control will be responsible for managing inventory program related activities. You will lead implement and maintain inventory management programs procedures and controls. This individual will also provide technical and organizational leadership and training on strategic materials positioning targets per ERP-SAP set-ups / operation / functionalities and establish the group as providing value-added services to the company. This candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects & tasks concurrently. This position will also have responsibilities for executing inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy. The role carries responsibility for working with Business Ops Planning Commodity/Supplier Management Purchasing Production Planning Logistics Finance Product Management IT and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage maintain and recommend the companys material and stocked inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
  • Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials to maximize availability of working capital
  • Ensure all materials transactions in SAP are managed appropriately according to company procedure
  • Provide routine management information on inventory performance
    • Monitor and evaluate consumable usage & costs
    • Monitor & evaluate material utilization and scrap
  • Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory minimize costs and maximize working capital
  • Write and maintain accurate written procedures for inventory control processes and functions
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system
  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted addressed and resolved
  • Conduct quality control on Inventory Management data produces weekly analytical inventory reports and supplies the management and respective teams with accurate reports
  • Follow up closely with the respective Inventory managers (various Warehouse teams) by ensuring a proper implementation of the policies and procedures are adhered to with elements of control losses and inventory reporting accuracies
  • Provide technical support to their local peers and communicates with the respective areas of Operations
  • Communicate openly with the IT department to ensure areas of concern are limited within the technical areas of challenges
  • Support teams on site whenever there are technical problems
  • Management of inventory at multiple external locations in line with the requirements of the operation
  • Review and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure inventory control actions are adhered to
    • Develop and train staff in respective departments/locations to enable continuity
    • Produce daily results with integrity identifying current and potential issues

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Fort Collins Colorado
  • Environment: Standard office environment using general office equipment
    • Also working in noisy and fast-paced manufacturing environments
  • Approximately 5% travel required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient use of an automated inventory management system (preferably Logility) with hands on experience of purchasing inventory control managing inventory turn service level expectations and goal setting
  • Ideally possessing relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in inventory management / purchasing / planning
  • Have a detailed understanding of MRP and inventory control / management systems and ERP
  • Proven track record as an experienced leader/manager of large planning organizations
  • Experience with lean manufacturing kanban and kaizen continuous improvement or similar production tools within a low volume high mix high quality manufacturing facility would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of international commerce customs regulations Incoterms and international supply chain processes
  • Knowledge of custom supply solutions to reduce non-value portion of material movement/positioning
  • Ability to turn goals into actionable results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment
  • Possess excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods
  • Diplomatic. Must possess an awareness and appreciation of different cultures
  • Highly proactive with the ability to work to deadlines. Must be able to multi-task effectively
  • Possess the ability to work productively efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Possess the willingness to learn improve and adapt
  • Possess relevant IT skills in basic MS Office applications - outlook excel & word and a working knowledge or business ERP systems
  • Presentation skills

EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years experience in inventory control on an automated system for a large diverse global supply base with multiple distribution centers.
  • Experience with SAP.

EDUCATION:

Essential

  • Bachelor of Science in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience and/or education

Desirable

  • APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification or Certified International Risk Management (CIRM) certification

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific office range of starting pay for this role is $85000 to $115000 per year.
