Inventory Supply Specialist - Position Summary
As an Inventory Supply Specialist you are responsible for efficiently maintaining the supply and blasting departments inventory which involves tasks such as receiving storing and distributing company products and supplies. You are crucial in maintaining clean and organized supply areas performing preventive maintenance and repairs on blasting and supply equipment managing inventory and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This position frequently requires driving a company vehicle between sites. Candidates must hold a valid drivers license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Use the companys Inventory Tracking System to record deliveries shipments and stock levels.
- Conduct preventive maintenance service and repair on blasting equipment/tools and ensure the functionality and safe operation of air monitors and two way radios.
- Oversee supply entry and exit; verify that received items are complete and undamaged.
- Follow established supply standards guidelines and safety protocols.
- Enter and retrieve data using handhelds or PCs; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.
- Keep all supply areas clean organized and free of hazards.
- Safely operate company vehicles and forklifts.
- Lift and carry up to 65 lb following proper ergonomic techniques.
- Remain current on required safety and compliance modules.
- Demonstrate solid organizational skills attention to detail and effective written/verbal communication.
- Work independently and as part of a team multitasking in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Conduct scheduled physical inventories and additional counts as needed.
Physical Demands
- Mobility: Navigate a commercial supply environment handling various equipment; operate motor vehicles and forklifts.
- Physical Fitness: Perform medium duty work such as loading and unloading trailers.
- Sensory Skills: Read printed materials and computer screens; communicate clearly in person by phone or over two way radio.
- Adaptability: Walk and work for extended periods on hard or occasionally slippery surfaces.
- Movement Skills: Bend stoop kneel reach and climb as needed.
- Manual Handling: Lift carry push and pull up to 65 lb (heavier loads with mechanical assistance).
Work Environment
- Hours: Be flexible to work irregular hours and split/rotating shifts including evenings weekends and holidays.
- Conditions: Work in storerooms trailers and outdoor settings with exposure to dust dirt hot and cold temperatures and adverse weather.
- PPE: Wear safety toe shoes/boots and when tasks warrant appropriate PPE such as eye protection gloves and protective clothing.
- Travel: Plant (Mill) outages can require working out of town for one to two weeks at a time.
