Health and Safety Manager

Responsibilities:

• Safety Leadership: Provide strong leadership in safety setting clear expectations and promoting a culture of safety-first throughout the organization.
• Policy Development: Develop implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Training and Education: Oversee safety training programs conduct safety orientations and provide ongoing education to employees and contractors.
• Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of safety incidents accidents and near-misses identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections ensuring that safety standards and protocols are consistently followed.
• Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management highlighting key safety metrics and trends.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards ensuring that OTG remains in compliance.
• Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols.
• Safety Committee: Collaborate with the safety committee to address safety concerns gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Contractor Safety: Evaluate and oversee the safety performance of subcontractors and suppliers holding them to OTGs safety standards.
• Safety Culture: Foster a strong safety culture by promoting safety awareness engaging employees and recognizing safety achievements.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field. A relevant professional certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health and safety management preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry. Must be comfortable working at site.
• Strong knowledge of local health and safety regulations codes and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
• Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
