Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Provide strong leadership in safety setting clear expectations and promoting a culture of safety-first throughout the organization.
- Policy Development: Develop implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Training and Education: Oversee safety training programs conduct safety orientations and provide ongoing education to employees and contractors.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of safety incidents accidents and near-misses identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections ensuring that safety standards and protocols are consistently followed.
- Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management highlighting key safety metrics and trends.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards ensuring that OTG remains in compliance.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols.
- Safety Committee: Collaborate with the safety committee to address safety concerns gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Contractor Safety: Evaluate and oversee the safety performance of subcontractors and suppliers holding them to OTGs safety standards.
- Safety Culture: Foster a strong safety culture by promoting safety awareness engaging employees and recognizing safety achievements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field. A relevant professional certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health and safety management preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry. Must be comfortable working at site.
- Strong knowledge of local health and safety regulations codes and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
- Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
