Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Job Duties:
Relieve Cheese Department operators in all jobs positions for vacations & PTO. Assume the roles of the operator with a minimum of disruption to the business. Vacation Relief Operators must have the ability to retain functional knowledge of all of the jobs within the cheese plant over extended periods of time away from each position. During periods that all vacation relief operators are not needed to cover vacations the excess vacation relief operators will be assigned work as needed including coverage of individual PTO days. The successful applicants will assume the position of the 9th vacation relief operator position.
Company wide job responsibilities:
Performs all duties in a professional safe and efficient manner. Promptly reports and/or corrects any unsafe working conditions. Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills. Understands and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Demonstrates integrity in all business activities with employees visitors and vendors. Comply with all quality & food safety systems and regulatory requirements. Reliable and available to work any shift overtime or holidays as required. Performs other duties as required.
Specific job selection criteria:
- Cheese making experience required
- Ability to quickly learn complicated job skills as well as grasp the concepts & functions of each piece of equipment
- Demonstrated leadership ability preferred
- Must possess a valid California State Pasteurizer License or have the ability to pass the exam to obtain one
- Must possess a valid California State Samplers & Weighers License or have the ability to obtain one
- Must possess a valid California State Appendix N Certification or have the ability to obtain one
Pay Range: $31.55 - $36.98
