Were looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our team at a salary of up to 35000 plus benefits offering hybrid working from Redhill Exeter or Bristol. This role provides the chance to tackle complex data governance challenges ensure compliance and drive data integrityall with autonomy and ongoing development opportunities.
Role Overview
As a Data Governance Analyst youll be key to maintaining the accuracy security and usability of enterprise data. Youll support and enhance data governance frameworks policies and standards while collaborating across teams to embed best practices throughout the data lifecycle.
What youll be doing
- Promote and champion data governance principles across the organisation
- Support data quality metadata and master data management initiatives
- Develop and maintain data standards policies and procedures
- Implement governance changes and gain stakeholder buy-in
- Monitor compliance and escalate issues when needed
- Facilitate data stewardship and maintain glossaries/catalogues
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to align governance with data strategies
- Conduct data quality assessments and support remediation
- Maintain metadata repositories and data lineage documentation
- Support data classification and access controls
- Provide training to enhance data literacy and reduce risks
What were looking for
- Up-to-date knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Experience with data catalogs and meta data management
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Purview and Azure data technologies (SQL Data Factory Data Lake)
- Proven ability to implement policies across diverse enterprises
- Experience working in cross-functional IT teams
- Degree in Information Management Computer Science or related field
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA)
- Proficiency in Excel Power BI SQL and preferably MS Azure certifications
