Job Summary
A well-established multi-disciplinary professional services firm offering corporate accounting taxation and investment advisory solutions is seeking a Senior Accounting Officer to strengthen their growing team.
In this role you will oversee a portfolio of clients manage accounting operations and ensure the preparation of accurate financial statements in line with applicable standards. You will also mentor junior staff and act as a key point of contact for clients on accounting and reporting matters.
Salary: 31-41K
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review management accounts and financial statements for multiple entities
- Ensure all accounting records comply with IFRS and local statutory requirements
- Oversee reconciliations accruals and journal entries
- Prepare VAT returns tax computations and assist in regulatory filings
- Coordinate and liaise with auditors tax advisors and other external parties
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure internal controls are followed
- Provide financial insights and advice to clients where needed
Education Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field or ACCA qualification (or at an advanced stage of completion)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting preferably within a professional services environment
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS and Maltese accounting regulations
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
