- Work Model: On-site 1 day/week remote as needed (Candidate has to be local Kansas City area)

Position Summary:
- Provide hands-on support for Citys core IT infrastructure covering Cisco UCS Cisco Meraki VMware/Omnissa Horizon Microsoft SQL and Azure Hybrid Cloud environments.
- The engineer will manage system maintenance performance tuning upgrades and modernization of legacy components while ensuring smooth integration across virtual and physical layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Cisco UCS servers network switches and Meraki SD-WAN devices.
- Administer VMware vSphere and Omnissa Horizon virtual desktop environments.
- Support Azure Hybrid Cloud workloads VM provisioning connectivity and backups.
- Perform routine SQL Server maintenance (backups patching query performance).
- Execute hardware/software upgrades and assist in legacy-system transitions.
- Coordinate with City IT staff for configuration documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Support incident troubleshooting and participate in periodic security reviews.
- Provide weekly progress notes and maintain configuration records.
Requirements
Required Skills
- 7 to 10 years of experience required.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco UCS & Meraki administration.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere / Horizon management and template deployment.
- Working knowledge of Azure Hybrid Cloud setup including AD sync & VM Ops.
- Intermediate SQL Server DBA tasks maintenance plans restores permissions.
- Familiarity with backup/DR concepts and patch/change management practices.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server 2016/2019 and Active Directory.
Preferred Certifications (any one atleast or more)
- CCNP Enterprise
- VMware VCP
- Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- CompTIA Server

Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
