Application Engineer

Job Purpose

• Provide technical proposals and support to assigned customers as a part of the team.
• Identify and develop new opportunities in existing and new customers.

Principal accountabilities

• To meet customers needs by providing essential technical support. This includes customer training the introduction of new technologies supporting customer audits and troubleshooting etc.
• Collaborate with other functions to offer competitive proposals for new and cost reduction projects to ensure that JM is in the forefront of technology.
• Proactively identify and develop new opportunities to increase JMs market share.
• Preserve and strengthen positive customer interactions especially with the technical departments. Visit customers on a regular basis.
• To guarantee the success of project SOPs such as NPI Unify and PQTR adhere to JMs internal and IATF procedures.
• Communicate internally within JM to better allocate the required resources and support.
• Create test programs and deliver comprehensive test results. Follow the environmental health and safety management policies of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with Chemical engineering or automotive
• Fully conversant in MS office (Word Excel Outlook)
• Experience working with ATS automotive or chemical industry
• Experience working in a busy office environment
• Experience of working in fast paced changing environment
• High levels of attention to detail
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative
• Ability to prioritise and work to challenging deadlines
• Solutions orientated with the ability to overcome obstacles whilst maintaining a positive can do attitude
• Strong team player with collaborative approach to working
• Ability to challenge the status quo in an engaging way to create buy-in to new ideas
• Ability to build strong and professional relationships communicating effectively at all levels
• Resilient and adaptable to change
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
