Are you driven by scientific problem solving and inspired by the potential of biotechnology We are currently looking for an Optimization Scientist to join our Downstream Optimization team in this role you will be instrumental in improving enzyme production process performance and thereby create long-term value for our business. Welcome to Downstream Optimization

You will be a part of a dedicated team of 12 optimization scientists and technicians focusing on the enhancement of biotechnology processes in laboratory and industrial settings. The Downstream Optimization department is part of a Global Enzyme Optimization function with departments in Denmark US and China organized within the Product and Process Development area.

We operate through cross-functional teams and projects where collaboration is at the core of our success. Our collaboration with our upstream colleagues in Fermentation Optimization is particularly strong supported by shared projects and job rotation initiatives that promote continuous learning and shared success. We collaborate closely with development teams and production sites across Denmark China Brazil and US to deliver impact.

In this role youll make an impact by:

• Optimizing Novonesis recovery processes in our Danish factories thereby improving recovery performance to generate cost savings.

• Optimizing enzyme recovery processes through lab investigations pilot experiments production trials and advanced analytics.

• Driving significant process improvements in 6-12 month-long projects as a project lead and delivering measurable improvements.

• Identifying optimization potential by analyzing large data sets and applying mathematical/statistical tools.

• Collaborating closely with other teams and departments to ensure business success.

• Drive trouble shooting on existing recovery processes and deliver solutions to our Danish factories.
  

Potentially relevant experience:

• A relevant MSc in biotechnology or a similar field or a BSc with a few years of relevant industrial experience.

• 1-5 years of experience in an industrial biotechnology production or optimization environment.

• Technical interest in equipment and production technology for protein recovery at industrial scale.

• Scientific understanding of Protein/enzyme solubility stability and function.

• Excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken. Proficiency in or willingness to learn Danish is a plus.

Furthermore you:

• Have a structured approach in your daily work and are capable of maintaining an overview in an environment where changes are an integrated part of the daily work.

• Thrive in an informal and dynamic environment and want to make a difference in your daily work.

• Bring strong networking and team skills since interaction with process operators on shift lab technicians production engineers and scientists located globally are an important part of the job.

• Possess an analytical mindset creative problem-solving abilities and personal drive to deliver results.
