Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Elevation Centre three times per week at minimum depending on stakeholder needs.

Collaborating on innovation challenges interacting with Industry leaders attending cross-functional networking events and volunteering for community service activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Internal Communications Co Op Student will develop and organize internal communications and events for General Motors Canada to enhance communication effectiveness employee engagement and the companys reputation.

AREAS YOU WILL LEAD

Oversee content creation for internal communication channels and internal editorial calendar

Work collaboratively a variety of departments and committees (communications HR employee resource groups engineers etc.) on internal storytelling and events

Lead event management for internal eventsincluding the development of communications plans messaging media outreach QA leader briefs run of show and detailed logistics planning

Lead or support internal eventsincluding Global Safety Week Career Development Week andother department initiatives

Support executive communications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program or in 3rd or 4th year of study in Business Marketing Communications Public relations or a related field or pursuing a masters degree

  • Available for a 8-month term

  • Superior writing skills & effective storytelling capabilities

  • Exceptional project management organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Understanding of corporate priorities

  • Relationship building prowess
