Where youll be working
You will be working at a 236-bed regional hospital in Queensland offering core inpatient and outpatient services including general medicine paediatrics surgery orthopaedics obstetrics & gynaecology emergency medicine and mental health services. The facilities have recently undergone a major redevelopment plan to provide additional inpatient beds and an expansion of outpatient and support services. This hospital has a strong undergraduate teaching affiliation with James Cook University.

The Emergency Department at this hospital sees a high number of attendances p.a with approximately 25% of presentations being paediatrics. The ED is supported by services such as Cardiac Cathlab and a 10 bed Short Stay Unit. As an Emergency Medicine Consultant you will contribute to the management and provision of clinical excellence and patient-focused care in the ED. You will be supported by multidisciplinary staff specialists registrars junior doctors and emergency department nurses on a varied casemix. You will have the opportunity to supervise train and educate junior medical staff while also contributing to your own continued professional development. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of ED processes as well as opportunities to participate in the Regional Aeromedical Retrieval Service.

You will be living and working in a vibrant regional centre in tropical North Queensland with 270 sunny days per year. This coastal region offers easy access to some of Australias most beautiful natural attractions including the iconic Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Salary information
Emergency Medicine Consultants can expect a total remuneration of up to $603633 per annum including a range of benefits and incentives.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
