Job Summary

Performs entry-level work. Work involves responsibility for miscellaneous clerical responsibilities including data entry. Works under minimal supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Essential Duties & Required Qualifications

  • Process approved training requests scheduling classes booking hotels and submitting per-diem requests per finance rules.
  • Assist logistics with fleet maintenance including moving vehicles and uniform orders or pickups.
  • Enter handwritten warnings and citations into AXON Records.
  • Process daily Digiticket review and correction. Exports from Digiticket and imports into RMS.
  • Triage the traffic complaints communicating timing of traffic enforcement efforts.
  • Manage annual wrecker fees and invoices.
  • Assists uniform division with payroll entry review.
  • Provide logistic support during department emergency situations.
  • Coordinate and conduct administrative duties for the uniform division command supervisors as assigned.
  • Tracking uniform division expenses
  • Ordering office supplies for the uniform division staff.
  • Some driving will be required as part of this job.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • 6 months of administrative support experience.
Required Certificates and Licenses
  • Valid Texas Class C drivers license or equivalent from any other US state.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Two years or more of administrative support experience.
  • Administrative support experience working for a public safety agency.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge of city and departmental policies and procedures.
  • All appropriate city ordinances.
  • Use and care of specialized equipment.
  • Perform computer tasks effectively and maintain acceptable operational knowledge of standard software programs utilized by the department.

  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations.
  • Exhibits good listening and comprehension. Keeps others adequately informed.
  • Selects and uses appropriate communication methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and be able to lift push or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance if required.
