CommScope is looking to add a Sr Mgr Software Engineering to our RUCKUS team based in Bengaluru.

Responsible for the development and integration of high-performance Wi-Fi Access Point data plane features Linux kernel upgrades and advanced packet processing. Oversees the design and implementation of hardware offloading strategies and secure high-throughput tunnel solutions such as vXLAN over IPsec. Drives performance and security enhancements in encrypted overlay tunneling while managing a team of engineers and collaborating with SoC vendors and cross-functional teams

How Youll Help Us Connect the World

Candidates having expertise in any two out of the following areas:

Wi-Fi Access Point Dataplane Architecture: Deep understanding of L2/L3 packet forwarding bridging NAT QoS and WLAN datapaths across enterprise and carrier-grade APs.
Linux Kernel Networking & Upgrades: Proficient in kernel module development kernel version transitions and maintaining compatibility with vendor patches and custom networking stacks.
Tunnel Offloading & Acceleration: Expertise in designing and implementing offload paths for encrypted overlay tunnels (e.g. vXLAN over IPsec GRE) leveraging hardware accelerators or fast path engines (e.g. NSS DPDK).
Performance Optimization: Skilled in identifying and resolving throughput bottlenecks interrupt mitigation CPU/core affinity tuning DMA optimization and fast-path implementation.
Security Enhancements: Strong focus on secure tunnel management IPsec optimizations key handling anti-replay protection and maintaining end-to-end encryption performance.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

10 years of work experience in developing AP Data Plane software for wired and wireless platforms
BTech/MTech BS/MS in CS or EE
2 years in a technical leadership or engineering management in Wi-Fi
Strong knowledge of Linux kernel networking especially in areas like netfilter xfrm (IPsec) routing bridging and traffic control.
Hands-on expertise in Linux kernel upgrades and aligning with SoC vendor release cycles.
Deep understanding of dataplane performance optimization including DMA tuning interrupt mitigation and memory management.
Experience designing or optimizing encrypted tunneling protocols such as vXLAN over IPsec GRE with a focus on hardware/software offload.
Familiarity with hardware acceleration techniques (e.g. NSS DPDK eBPF or platform-specific fast paths).
Solid foundation in IPsec architecture key exchange mechanisms anti-replay and secure tunnel lifecycle management.

Strong programming skills in C/C scripting experience in Python or Bash.
Experience with OpenWRT or similar embedded Linux build systems.
