Your New Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an IBM Middleware Engineer to join our team working within complex multi-vendor environments hosted on this role you will be responsible for the deployment administration and optimization of IBM middleware technologies including WebSphere Application Server WebSeal ISAM ACE and WebSphere Liberty. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure reliable and high-performing middleware solutions that support critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install configure and maintain IBM middleware products (WebSphere Application Server WebSeal ISAM ACE WebSphere Liberty) in AIX environments ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Implement and manage security policies authentication and authorization using WebSeal and ISAM; collaborate with application infrastructure and security teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for middleware deployment and configuration using tools like Ansible or Puppet.

  • Monitor system performance conduct capacity planning optimize resource allocation and participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation mentor junior team members and share best practices for middleware management.

About You and What Youll Bring

  • Hands-on experience delivering IBM middleware solutions in enterprise environments with deep expertise in AIX.

  • Proven ability to administer and optimize IBM technologies including WebSphere with strong skills in automation security integration and performance tuning.

  • Skilled in producing high-quality technical documentation and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.

  • Quick to adapt to changing requirements and adept at solving complex technical challenges.

  • Holds or is pursuing certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator WebSphere; committed to continuous learning and professional growth

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline level security clearance.
