The Infrastructure Linux Engineer will be a critical member of the Global Linux Server Platform team at Ecolab Inc. This position is in a high-paced and demanding environment which requires clear time management skills self-directed organizational skills and attention to detail. Additionally the ideal candidate is a self-starter self-disciplined with their work and often going above and beyond what is needed/requested. Furthermore as a global company this role will work alongside many IT associates with a multi-cultural and multi-lingual background with English as a second language.
What You Will Do:
- Provide operational support of the companys 600 Linux servers primarily running in Azure Cloud. Support activities include:
- Provide server admin support related to resolving break/fix type incidents in the team queue
- Install configure upgrade patch and maintain Linux servers ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Monitor system performance identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
- Write and maintain scripts (Bash Python etc) to automate routine tasks.
- Work closely with network engineers database administrators and application developers.
- Participate in major IT projects related to the Linux platform.
- Participate in Security Vulnerability and Patching related initiatives for Linux Platform
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of IT experience
- 3 years of UNIX (SLES and RHEL Linux AIX a plus) Server experience
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends participating in on-call rotations
- No Immigration Sponsorship available
Required Technical Skills:
- Expertise in SLES RHEL OS support
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation.
- Experience with Azure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SUSE Multi Linux Manager
- Experience running and maintaining Ansible playbooks
- GCP and AWS Cloud experience.
- Experience with AIX and Oracle Linux OS support.
- Experience supporting Linux servers running SAP.
