MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Three (3) years of food service experience.
  3. ASFSA certification (120 hrs) or be working toward certification.
  4. Serv Safe certification preferred.
  5. Practical knowledge of basic math.
  6. Must be able to perform the essential functions and meet the physical demands and other criteria listed herein.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Director of School Nutrition

JOB GOAL

To provide needed healthcare services to students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plans and directs the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria.
  1. Assumes responsibility for the security of food and supplies.
  1. Supervises the storage and care of food and supplies.
  1. Assumes responsibility for the security of revenue.
  1. Ensures that menus developed by the school nutrition director are followed.
  1. Supervises and participates in the preparation and serving of food.
  1. Oversees and participates in the cleaning of kitchen serving storage and dining areas.
  1. Assigns directs plans supervises and evaluates the work of all cafeteria employees.
  1. Assumes responsibility for checking that all equipment in the cafeteria area is clean safe and in working condition.
  1. Oversees the security of all storage areas and maintains an accurate monthly inventory.
  1. Orders on a weekly basis all necessary food and supplies and reports to the school nutrition director any faulty or inferior product received.
  1. Confers with the school nutrition director regarding any personnel problems.
  1. Operates a cash register and accurately accounts for monies collected.
  1. Keeps clear accurate concise and timely records and reports.
  1. Retains rapport with administration teachers students and other food service personnel.
  1. Performs such other duties as may reasonably be prescribed by the school nutrition director

This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 25 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

  4. Numerical: Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
  5. Manual Dexterity: Ability to move the hands easily and manipulate small objects with the fingers.
  6. Form Perception: To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures.
  7. Color Discrimination: Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color.
