Head of Digital Platform Engineering - Financial Services

The Role

Were seeking a Head of Digital Platform Engineeringa senior leadership role within the Platform Engineering function of our Financial Services client.

Youll be accountable for delivering world-class digital platforms integration services and scalable solutions ensuring seamless service delivery across the organisation. This includes shaping the operating model defining strategy and driving best-practice engineering outcomes.

As a proven digital leader youll oversee a large and diverse Product Engineering team (180 FTE) spanning platform development integration operations and support. Youll play a pivotal role in guiding architecture contributing to the technology roadmap and embedding innovation across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Product Engineering portfolio driving delivery of scalable outcome-focused digital services.

• Partner with senior leadership to set strategy and execute business-aligned technology plans.

• Manage day-to-day operations including service delivery financial oversight (Capex & Opex) and issue resolution.

• Define and measure KPIs for digital platforms ensuring transparency and accountability.

• Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.

• Build team capability through recruitment retention coaching and professional development.

• Promote agile product-centric delivery models and instil a culture of continuous improvement.

• Champion adoption of emerging technologiescloud streaming AI/ML automationthrough POCs and technical showcases.

• Establish financial discipline balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.

About You

Were looking for an accomplished technology leader who can combine strategic vision with hands-on delivery. Youll bring:

• 7 years in senior technology leadership roles within complex corporate environments.

• Proven success building leading and scaling product and platform engineering teams.

• Deep expertise in digital platforms integration API platforms automation and operations.

• Strong software engineering backgroundideally with AWS AEM GIT Jira Confluence Bamboo or equivalent Java JMS Springboot Jenkins Tomcat Apache REST SOAP WSDLS AJAX.

• Experience shaping technology operating models and governance across agile and waterfall environments.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skillsable to simplify complexity and influence at executive level.

• A track record of leading technology functions through large-scale transformation.
