The Junior Project Manager is responsible for supporting the planning coordination and execution of small to medium-sized projects or workstreams within larger initiatives. This role assists in project administration stakeholder communication schedule tracking and risk monitoring to ensure smooth delivery.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and broader project team the Junior Project Manager helps ensure deliverables are met issues are escalated timeously and project documentation is maintained. This role also contributes to process improvements and learns to apply project governance principles in a real-world delivery environment.
- Timely completion of project tasks and milestones
- Accurate records kept and shared within required timelines
- Updates tracked and escalated where necessary
- Project artefacts are accurate and up to date
- Weekly or ad hoc reporting shared as required
- Sessions scheduled and facilitated professionally
- Suggestions made and templates maintained
- Demonstrated learning and application in daily work
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelors degree in Project Management Information Systems Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Project Management training or certification (e.g. CAPM Agile Fundamentals) is advantageous
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodology preferred
- 13 years experience in a project coordination or junior project management role
- Exposure to IT or business systems projects preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Jira or other project tracking tools is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Required Skills:
- Diploma or Certificate in Software Testing Graphic Design Computer Science or related field. - ISTQB Foundation or equivalent testing certification (advantageous). - Coding in JavaScript or NodeJS (advantageous) - Training or exposure in Pitstop Pro Enfocus Switch or CorelDRAW beneficial but not required (on-the-job learning provided). - Exposure to Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator Photoshop InDesign) advantageous Exposure to PDF Toolbox
