Job Summary

RoleThe Dean of Students reports to Oliver Middle Schools Principal. The Dean of Students will lead the schools efforts to create a positive structured consistent caring and disciplined school culture. Specific Responsibilities Establish and ensure a joyful structured achievement-oriented school culture Support and coach teachers to hold all students to consistently high behavioral expectations With the Director of Operations build systems and procedures which protect the sanctity of instructional time and reinforce a positive school culture Serve as the point person for discipline/culture issues Assist teachers students and families in the effective creation and implementation of individual behavior plans Reinforce the effective use of a school-wide behavior plan Ensure that the physical environment of the school reinforces school culture and facilitates student achievement Work with the interventionist and Student Support team to develop and implement of student supports and interventions QualificationsA strong belief in Oliver Middle Schools core values: Resilience Integrity Scholarship Empathy and Community Bachelors degree is required Masters degree is preferred Three years teaching experience required 2 years of school leadership experience or relevant discipline/culture experience strongly preferred Demonstrated success in leading in a diverse environment Current authorization to work in the United States A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
