GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant II answers phone calls and prepares files for processing and closing. This position orders appraisals title works and credit MLO Assistant prepares marketing material thank you notes and gifts for closing and helps facilitate the application process for prequels pull credit gather approval conditions and resubmit to processing and closing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Answer phone calls manage calendar for MLO and appts/schedule closing appts. This duty is performed daily about 20% of the time.
2. Preparing files for processing and closing-submission and resubmission. This duty is performed daily about 20% of the time.
3. Ordering appraisals title work and credit supplements. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.
4. Preparing withdrawals & denials. This duty is performed weekly about 5% of the time.
5. Marketing material thank you notes and gifts for closing. This duty is performed weekly about 10% of the time.
6. Ordering TRVs SSN verification. This duty is performed daily about 5% of the time.
7. Maintain closed loan files. This duty is performed monthly about 10% of the time.
8. Obtain conditions/documents from clients (or other sources) for loan processing/approval. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.
9. Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed annually about 5% of the time.
10. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
11. Handle referrals from branch office and provide appropriate follow-up. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.
12. Analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. This duty is performed daily about 20% of the time.
13. Maintain knowledge of available loan products processing procedures and underwriting guidelines. This duty is performed weekly about 20% of the time.
14. Take borrower applications. This duty is performed daily about 30% of the time.
15. Utilize communication and access of daily rates credit reports and AUS responses and transmitting to processor. This duty is performed daily about 30% of the time.
16. Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicants and support staffs expectations. This duty is performed daily about 30% of the time.
17. Attend and participate in all lending meetings as required. This duty is performed as needed about 5% of the time.
18. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired) such as basic accounting computer etc. Equivalent of four years in high school plus night trade extension or correspondence school specialized training equal to two years of college plus 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand simple instructions short correspondence notes letters and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read analyze and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions ratios and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
