Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of Aboriginal communities Join the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley as an Aboriginal Environmental Health Field Support Officer within the Aboriginal Environmental Health Unit where your work will contribute to initiatives that improve environmental health outcomes and foster community well-being.
In this role you will collaborate with Aboriginal communities their leaders and administrative bodies as well as key agencies like the Department of Communities Department of Housing and Works and the Environmental Health Directorate of the WA Department of Health. Your efforts will focus on addressing environmental health challenges and delivering health education and promotion programs tailored to schools and communities.
A part of your role will involve site visits to Aboriginal communities where you will learn and assist in implementing a variety of programs such as dog health and breeding control housing maintenance referrals clinical referral programs food and water sampling pest and mosquito control and the Sentinel Chicken Program for infectious disease monitoring.
You will learn about developing community Environmental Health programs and other health initiatives. Youll also provide administrative support by preparing and maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
We place a strong emphasis on customer service and you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders offering professional timely and accurate assistance. By developing strong relationships with the community you will learn to understand and address their needs.
