The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation in Annapolis Maryland is looking to hire a full-time Executive Director Enterprise Events & Operations.
This position is based in historic Annapolis at our current offices located next to the beautiful grounds of the U.S. Naval 2023 the staff of the Alumni Association & Foundation moved into the new Fluegel Alumni Center which was built on the banks of College Creek overlooking the Naval Academy and downtown Annapolis.
ABOUT THE U. S. NAVAL ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND FOUNDATION
The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and the United States Naval Academy Foundation are two independent not-for-profit corporations sharing a single president and CEO and operating as a fully integrated organization in support of the Naval Academy and its mission. The organizations focus and core competencies are engagement and philanthropy in pursuit of complementary and closely aligned missions.
This position pays a competitive salary commensurate with experience and may be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus when applicable. The Executive Director Enterprise Events & Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight for enterprise-wide events and various alumni-focused revenue addition the Executive Director oversees the planning and execution of the Service Academy Career Conference. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of the Alumni Association they play a pivotal role in driving business performance enhancing alumni engagement supporting the philanthropic mission and ensuring exceptional event execution.
Key responsibilities include leading a high-performing team developing strategic business partnerships and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders such as the U.S. Naval Academy and affiliated organizations. They oversee event sales and operations customer experience and budget management while also guiding initiatives to increase revenue through various programs requiring event support.
With a strong focus on leadership teamwork operational excellence and revenue growth the Executive Director supports the mission and values of the Enterprise ensuring alignment with broader alumni engagement and philanthropic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Teamwork and Customer Relations
- The Executive Director Enterprise Events & Operations is responsible for the business performance of the Fluegel Alumni Center and consults as needed for the execution of Enterprise events held in other locations.
- Requires a leader who is committed to fostering an environment of trust and respect for all employees members and stakeholders.
- Coach and develop team members to help them enhance their careers within the Enterprise.
- Liaise with the USNA Office of Special Events the USNA Business Services Division and the Naval Academy Athletic Association.
- Supports leaders across the Enterprise in creating and implementing initiatives that enhance alumni engagement participation and philanthropy.
- Provide reporting as necessary to support effective Director and Trustee oversight for both the Alumni Association and Foundation boards.
- Collect data on all prospective client contracts in order to ascertain our level of demand conversion ratios objections and the positive/negative attributes of our facility for each type of event.
- Manage budgeting payments/invoices and revenue processes.
- Develop strategic business partnerships with the Annapolis area hospitality industry and other local partners.
- Develop surveys and assessment tools to ensure customer satisfaction and to improve Fluegel Alumni Center operations events and quality of service.
- Lead the planning and execution of enterprise and revenue events including alumni and engagement reunions activities and events; events in support of fundraising and donor relations; and external events and conferences.
- Lead and manage the Director of Operations to ensure seamless event execution.
- Responsible to the Chief Financial Officer for all event-based revenue forecasting.
- Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and the Director of Information Technology to ensure building readiness for events.
- Serves as the Executive Director of the Service Academy Career Conference and supervises the Director and Associate Director of the SACC Program. Responsible for interfacing with corporate hiring and talent acquisition professionals while overseeing future SACC locations and the contractual negotiations addition responsible for reporting to the consortium partners for collaboration and decisions.
