Description
AMHC is seeking a strategic passionate and experienced Program Director to lead our Behavioral Health Services in Washington and Hancock Counties.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the operations staff compliance and strategic growth of behavioral health programs including our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction quality and operations of our behavioral health programs in the region including the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The Program Director will be an integral part of AMHCs Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will play a key role in shaping the future of behavioral health services in our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead develop and mentor program managers and clinical staff.
- Champion a culture of equity accountability and continuous learning.
- Translate agency-wide strategies into actionable and measurable program goals.
Strategic Planning & Development
- Design and refine programs based on data community needs and stakeholder feedback.
- Recommend new initiatives and support expansion efforts through grants and partnerships.
Collaboration & Representation
- Work cross-functionally with HR Finance Quality Billing and other departments.
- Represent AMHC in public forums conferences and strategic meetings with stakeholders and funders.
Program Management & Evaluation
- Oversee implementation quality assurance and performance of all behavioral health services.
- Utilize data to monitor outcomes assess impact and ensure ongoing program improvement.
Budget & Compliance
- Develop and manage program budgets in partnership with finance leaders.
- Ensure all services meet compliance with applicable laws grants contracts and agency policies.
Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with community organizations healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed of local needs emerging behavioral health trends and opportunities for collaboration.

Requirements
- This position requires a masters degree in social work psychology or counseling and 5 years of experience in mental health services crisis intervention or residential care.
- Demonstrated supervisory leadership administrative program and community development experience is also required.
- Prior leadership or management experience in a similar setting is preferred.
- Active licensure in the State of Maine as an LCSW LCPC LMSW-CC or LCPC-C is required.
