Job Summary

Our client is one of New Zealands leading manufacturing companies specialising in commercial and residential door solutions. Theyre on the lookout for a motivated and detail-focused Junior QS/Estimator to join their friendly team.

This role would also suit someone whos recently finished their studies or gained a relevant qualification and is looking to kick-start their career in the manufacturing or construction industry. Youll receive full training and ongoing support from an experienced team.

Hours of work:

Monday- Friday- 8:00am-4:30pm

This is a long-term role with potential for a permanent role for the right person.

Day-to-day duties:

Reviewing plans taking off quantities and preparing accurate quotes and estimates
Printing and filing plans and quote documentation
Updating quotes when variations or design changes occur
Assisting walk-in customers and providing great service
Typing up quotes and general correspondence
Keeping the quote register up to date and following up on quotes
Sourcing supplier pricing and materials when needed
Helping with general admin tasks - answering phones taking messages and supporting the wider team
Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients suppliers and colleagues
Managing incoming emails and ensuring all queries are handled promptly

What were looking for:

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Friendly professional communication
A qualification in estimating construction or similar (or relevant experience)
Comfortable reading plans and using computers

Excellent remuneration is on offer which will be based on skillset and experience.
