Homelessness is a great place to work where you can actually make a positive difference to people lives by early support and guidance to prevent it. The successful candidates will be required to be flexible in their working and good communicators in all formats. This is a challenging role in a highly pressured environment at a time of significant change.
This roles key function is working within the migration team having particular regard to citizens approaching for assistance under the Homes for Ukraine and Ukraine Permission Extensions programs.
You will have great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people who can be very stressed and anxious whilst remaining calm to understand their issues and provide them with the necessary advice within a legal framework. You will also have to record that interaction accurately and in detail on an IT system which records all your interventions on the customers behalf to prevent their homelessness.
You will be expected to deliver expert housing advice and solutions conduct thorough assessments and investigations make referrals to other local authorities and support agencies deliver high quality case management and make informed homeless decisions within statutory targets.
We are looking for people who: -
Have great communication skills both verbal and written
Are accurate with an attention to detail
Confident in their use of systems and databases
Knowledge of working within social housing and homelessness would be helpful but training is given for those with experience in another social or person facing field.
This is a fixed term contract until 31.3.27 working on a hybrid basis.
