Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse Manager to join our healthcare team and help lead the Emergency Department in providing outstanding patient care. This is a full-time permanent role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and assume responsibility for daily operations of the Emergency Department in the absence of the Director.
- Plan and allocate staffing and resources according to unit workload and operational demands.
- Participate in the development review and revision of unit policies and clinical standards.
- Assist with staff recruitment interviews hiring and performance evaluations in accordance with policy.
- Ensure all staff maintain current licensure competencies and complete mandatory in-services.
- Facilitate the onboarding and orientation of new employees students and volunteers.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
Required Requirements:
- Education:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
- BSN preferred or enrollment in an accredited BSN program
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia or active compact license with VA eligibility (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) American Heart Association (required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 1 year of hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 1 year of hire
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
- BCLS Instructor required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS Instructor preferred or required within 1 year of hire
- Experience:
- Must have prior ER (Emergency Room) management experience
