Job Summary
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory ensuring safe and efficient patient care delivery.
Supervise support and mentor nursing staff promoting a high standard of clinical practice.
Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Ensure compliance with clinical governance infection control and health and safety standards.
Participate in the development and implementation of policies protocols and best practices specific to the Cath Lab.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
Manage staff rosters allocate duties and monitor performance to ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix.
Facilitate staff education training and competency development in interventional cardiology and Cath Lab procedures.
Collaborate with consultants radiographers and technicians to ensure effective communication and coordinated care.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives audits and risk management within the Cath Lab.
Support the Director of Nursing and clinical leadership in achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements
Registered with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)
Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in an acute general hospital
At least 2 years of experience in critical care nursing or cardiac catheterisation lab
Qualification or experience in the field of Cardiac Catheterisation Lab is desirable
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proven clinical auditing and managerial experience
Management qualification and experience are desirable
