Job Summary

An esteemed independent school in Buckingham is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Music Teacher to join their Performing Arts Department from January 2026. This is a full-time permanent role suitable for a dynamic and versatile musician with the ability to teach across the full age and ability range.

About the Role

The successful teacher will teach Music from KS3 to KS5 preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations while promoting musical excellence through ensembles performances and instrumental tuition. They will work with talented young musicians in an environment that places creativity and performance at the centre of learning.

The role offers the opportunity to direct school concerts orchestras and choirs as well as support pupils involved in external examinations through ABRSM and Trinity College. The department encourages innovation combining classical and contemporary styles and integrates music technology into its teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Music performance composition and theory.

  • Prepare students for practical and written assessments at GCSE and A-Level.

  • Lead choirs ensembles or orchestras depending on skill set.

  • Promote music within the school community through events and workshops.

  • Collaborate with peripatetic staff and coordinate instrumental tuition.

  • Support concerts recitals and drama productions.
