Techno-Functional Business Analyst Retail Domain

Responsibilities

Gather and analyze business requirements from retail stakeholders and translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications.

• Conduct requirement analysis sessions and workshops with business users store operations merchandising supply chain and IT teams.
  
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) user stories and process maps specific to retail environments.
  
• Liaise between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment on retail business needs and technology solutions.
  
• Support retail software implementations POS ERP inventory and e-commerce system integration.
  
• Participate in solution design reviews system testing UAT and coordinate go-live activities for retail system enhancements and rollouts.
  
• Analyze and improve retail business processes recommending process automation and new system features to drive operational efficiency.
  
• Document data flows reporting requirements and coordinate with BI teams on sales inventory and customer insights projects.
  
• Provide end-user training support and ongoing enhancements for deployed retail applications.
  
• Maintain clear project documentation and status reporting for all retail IT initiatives.
  

Data emphasis

• Map retail business and operational processes onto enterprise data platforms to enable real-time analytics and reporting.

• Design relational data models data flow diagrams and ETL (Extract Transform Load) logic to support analytics and operational reporting.
  
• Define document and implement data governance data quality and metadata management practices for retail systems.
  
• Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to deliver dashboards insights and automated reporting from retail data warehouses.
  

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Information Technology Business Administration or a related field.

• 5 years of experience as a techno-functional business analyst preferably in the retail sector.
  

• Strong understanding of retail business processes including sales inventory management merchandising logistics and e-commerce.
  
• Hands-on experience with major retail systems and technologies (POS ERP WMS CRM e-commerce analytics platforms).
  
• Proficiency in requirements gathering process mapping data analysis and writing SQL/database queries.
  
• Effective communication presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
  
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically dispersed retail teams.
