Job Description
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Library Technical Services the Electronic Resources Specialist supports the acquisition of library electronic resources. This position communicates with vendors to acquire access to electronic subscription resources in accordance with library licensing agreements. The Electronic Resources Specialist receives and processes invoices for library subscription resources. This position supports access to library electronic resources by activating and managing electronic collections in library systems.
Required Qualifications
-Demonstrated experience with purchasing workflows
-Experience with the Alma library system and electronic resources management tools
-Effective communication skills and experience communicating with vendors and a wide range of constituencies
-Experience interpreting and applying detailed procedures
-Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision
-Experience working in a collaborative team environment
-Strong computer literacy skills including fluency with basic office tools (Microsoft Office Adobe Pro and Google products) and experience learning new tools and technologies
-Experience working in a library setting
-Experience working with multiple priorities with competing timelines
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience managing acquisitions/purchasing workflows or serials acquisitions functions including ordering claiming and processing invoices
-Experience with MARC formats for bibliographic description and holdings data for serials.
-Experience working in an academic library
-Experience using OCLC resource management tools
