Job Summary

What Youll Do:

Reporting to the Agile Practice Manager youll be 

responsible for enabling the delivery squad planning sprint activities identifying and mitigating risks issues and dependencies while taking best advantage of opportunities. As a Scrum Lead the incumbent will ensure the squads embody agile values and principles adhering to mutually agreed upon processes and practices. The Scrum Lead is also responsible for scheduling and facilitating the squad-level agile ceremonies.

Success is achieved through high velocity high value agile delivery on a consistent basis.

The core parts of your role will be to: 

  • Responsible for leading Agile scrums but will not be leading other scrum leads or Scrum of Scrums.
  • Lead and facilitate various scrum related activities including but not limited to: Sprint planning; Daily stand-up; Cross-squad connect; Backlog management; Sprint retrospective.
  • Run Agile ceremonies release governance and dependency management.
  • Protect the squads from distractions disruptions and impediments to allow the pods to progress (removal escalation and prevention).
  • Act as Agile champion/coach for the pod and ensures squad members are grounded in Agile principles and values.
  • Negotiate the squads workload and scope.
  • Collect and document squad key priority metrics and report against those metrics.
  • Ensure user stories are updated at PI Planning daily stand-up and other agile governance forums.
  • Provide operational support to the squad and help them achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Liaise with other delivery squads.
  • Foster collaboration between squads.
  • Support the Capability (Product) Owner and Experience  Owner as needed.
  • Performs other duties and competencies as assigned.

Qualifications :

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:

  • Certified Scrum Master.
  • Previous experience in implementing practicing and growing the Agile methodologies with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within scope.
  • Demonstrated Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional pods.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and measure value realization in Agile projects.
  • Ability to adjust communication style based on audience (i.e. business engineering pods etc.)
  • Proficiency in value stream mapping techniques to identify and improve workflow processes.
  • Proficiency in utilizing collaboration and presentation tools (i.e. MS Office Teams) to facilitate effective communication and coordination within cross-functional pods.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) to facilitate Agile governance forums (Daily stand-up cross-pod connect sprint planning PI planning).
  • The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
