Job Summary
Location: Geraldton
Roster: 2/1 (7 Days On 7 Nights On 7 Off)
Shift Hours: 12-Hours
Hourly Rate: $45 per hour Superannuation KPI Based Bonus
The Trades Assistant provides essential support to Trailer Maintenance Technicians and Diesel Mechanics by assisting with the maintenance repair and inspection of prime movers trailers and related equipment. The role ensures that workshop operations run efficiently by performing routine tasks maintaining a clean and organised workspace and supporting the overall functionality of the maintenance team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Trailer Maintenance Technicians in servicing diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles..
- Perform general workshop duties such as cleaning organising tools and maintaining workspaces.
- Support with inspecting trailers and identifying parts that require repair or replacement.
- Assist with disassembling cleaning and reassembling trailer components.
- Help maintain inventory levels by reporting shortages of parts or tools to the supervisor.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Trailer Maintenance Technicians or Workshop Manager.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in a similar trade or workshop environment (preferred).
- Basic mechanical skills and a willingness to learn trailer maintenance.
- A valid drivers license (MC license is beneficial but not essential)
