Core Development is a global team of technologists who architect build and maintain our world-class trading platform. From optimizing our core trading engine to building custom hardware we leverage software & hardware engineering data science and research to deliver the infrastructure and tools that drive our trading and business needs.
Weve come a long way from shouting orders in a pit modern trading requires interaction across a wide range of systems. As Jump continues to expand and refine its trading systems to meet the demands of changing markets and regulations we need people who can help design create and evolve the ways we interact with those systems. Were currently looking for an experienced front-end developer to help build out new applications to support new styles of trading for the firm. The individual in this role will work extensively with many areas of the business to develop both internal and external user interfaces. For this role you will sit in a central operations position giving you the chance to work closely with some of the brightest minds in the industry and make a large impact on the success of the firm. You should be able to think on your feet and adapt quickly to new business requirements and technologies as well as take ownership of projects and drive initiatives. We are looking for exceptional talent that can work closely and collaborate effectively across multiple teams spread around the globe and continue to take our infrastructure to the next level.
What youll do:
- Work directly with users to understand their needs and design user-friendly solutions
- Contribute toward extending and supporting our suite of applications
Skills youll need:
- At least 5 years of experience with modern JavaScript HTML5 and CSS
- Desire to make awesome front-ends which users enjoy using on a daily basis
- Ability to write reliable and readable code and provide code review feedback to others
- Passion for development strong work ethic and drive to continually learn and improve
- Previous experience demonstrating strategic thinking skills and maturity in tackling complex problems dealing with people technology and processes
- Knowledge of SQL databases (Postgres MySQL)
- Experience working with version control and CI/CD systems
- Experience with unit testing front-end code with Jest or a similar testing library
- Reliable and predictable availability
Bonus Points:
- Experience in back-end development with Python (Tornado / FastAPI / Django) or willingness to learn
- Experience with libraries for charting / visualization (such as ag-grid React Charts etc)
- Experience building systems using message queues like Kafka or caching layers like Redis
- Experience with time series or columnar databases (InfluxDB Clickhouse)
- Linux knowledge/skills
- Trading industry experience
