The salary scale for Professional Support 2 is based on steps that range from $68121.92 - $87849.46. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $76947.98 annually.

What you will be doing

  • You will be responsible to the College/Campus for the development and provision of the Achieve addition this position will provide leadership and guidance in the promotion planning implementation assessment and evaluation of the Achieve program.
  • Learners in the Achieve Program take part in college life and experience hands-on activities and workshops in this transition program. They are guided through a person-centered process of developing personal goals and action plans for employment independent living and social networking. Classroom and campus experiences create a foundation for learning essential and employability skills.
  • Applied learning experiences on campus and in the community provide job shadowing and work experience. The Achieve Program not only helps students transition to employment but in some cases into other NSCC core programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in social services or a related discipline. Certification as a Career Development Practitioner would be considered an asset.
  • You have a minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience. Your occupational experience includes demonstrated experience supporting persons with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder and working with individuals with social and emotional issues.
  • Occupational experience that includes group facilitation/teaching or tutoring would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite E-mailExperience with Brightspace would be an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience
  • You have experience supporting/providing service and information to students and prospective students

Relevant Skills and Knowledge
