DescriptionPer Diem Doctor of Audiology-New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai
The Doctor of Audiology performs and interprets diagnostic audiological testing as well as fitting of hearing aid devices and counsels patients/families. Prepares diagnostic reports and interacts with referring physicians.Provides diagnostic and rehabilitative services by assessing and treating children and adults with hearing balance or communication disorders.
Responsibilities and interpret behavioral measures to identify dysfunction in hearing and other auditory related systems.
evaluates fit and facilitate adjustments to and dispense hearing aids/devices for hearing loss and protection.
and interpretation of computerized electrophysiological methods to assess balance function.
and interpretation of sensory and motor evoked potentials.
physician coverage for audiological evaluation in a timely and effective manner.
supervision to persons enrolled in 4th year Au.D. programs.
documentation for services in an appropriate and timely manner as required by the department policy regulatory and third party payor requirements.
meetings prepared to discuss cases and actively participate.
other related duties as needed.
Qualifications- Masters Degree in Audiology from an approved program. Recent graduates require a Doctorate in Audiology.
- One Year of work (CFY) or Au.D. 4th year.
- Name: New York State Audiologist license New York State hearing aid dispenser license Issuing Agency: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and Fellow American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) are optional.
