What Youll Do

You will be at the forefront of shaping and executing strategies that drive positive labor relations and foster a thriving workplace culture. Samsung is seeking an experienced Labor Relations Specialist with a strong understanding of labor relations and a passion for fostering a great workplace experience.
The Labor Relations Specialist will play a key role in the implementation of Samsungs labor relations strategy designed to enhance Samsungs broader policy and operations portfolio. This role will help execute engagement strategy with various labor institutions. They will facilitate regular synchronization meetings with relevant U.S. Public Affairs Human Resources and Legal leaders across Samsung subsidiaries while providing regular reporting on political/industry developments as well as programmatic updates. This position will report to the Director Labor Relations and will be based in the U.S. Public Affairs office in Washington D.C..

  • Strategic Assessment and Best Practices. Evaluate current initiatives across Samsungs US subsidiaries focusing on compensation health & safety workforce development & training community outreach and employee engagement. Identify and disseminate best practices to enhance operational excellence and employee satisfaction.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including trade associations labor organizations consulting firms and law firms. Collaborate on labor strategy initiatives such as training opportunities apprenticeships and community outreach programs to create mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Policy Monitoring and Forecasting. Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory changes by monitoring federal policy developments. Assess potential impacts on Samsung subsidiaries in key states like California Texas Michigan and Indiana and provide actionable insights to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

  • Education and Advocacy. Proactively educate HR leaders at global headquarters and US subsidiary HR teams on current labor relations issues and trends. Serve as a trusted advisor to Samsung HR supporting their efforts to enhance labor relations capabilities and align with organizational goals.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between business priorities and labor policy objectives. Represent Samsung at outreach events public affairs opportunities and engagement initiatives to strengthen the companys reputation and foster meaningful connections.

  • Reporting and Communication. Provide regular updates and reports to key stakeholders across Samsung keeping them informed of developments project statuses and strategic progress.

  • Event Coordination. Lead the planning and execution of the annual Samsung Labor Relations Conference in Washington DC bringing together industry experts and internal leaders to share insights and drive innovation in labor relations.

  • Training Leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact for all training efforts including coordinating with the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations to deliver impactful training programs for US-based HR and labor leaders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 years experience working in a labor relation employee relations human resources or similar role

  • Bachelors degree or higher in HR Industrial or Labor Relations (or similar).

  • Strong problem-solving skills strong organizational skills and cooperative flexible team-oriented attitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to be both an issue expert on matters related to Samsungs business and a manager of complex regulatory and political issues.

  • Experience of working at global company preferably with an understanding of Korean business culture and Korean language skills.
