This work unit exists to manage Lake Pueblo State Park under the terms of a lease agreement with the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Reclamation (property owner) and within the guidelines of statute regulation and Colorado Parks & Wildlife (CPW) regulation policy procedure and directive for the use benefit and enjoyment of over 3 million annual visitors which utilize the area.

Provide a safe and quality recreational experience along with a wide range of appropriate recreational and educational opportunities while protecting and enhancing the facilities and natural resources of the area by providing visitor services maintenance functions natural resource protection and education administration functions law enforcement public safety inter-agency cooperation and program development.

Description of Job

This position exists to provide a variety of direct information services to the visitors to the park. Information is delivered in person on the phone and by email. The position manages a variety of visitor center programs including park pass & registration sales facility rentals retail sales and Integrated Parks and Wildlife System. To act as an administrative assistant to the Park Manager(s) with an emphasis on accounting coordinating paperwork for the temporary hiring program revenue reporting and managing special projects.Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Office Manager
This position works directly with visitors to provide customer service answer questions and assist with passes permits registrations and license sales while ensuring accurate information and revenue collection. Duties include overseeing visitor center operations such as phones camping reservations scheduling and maintaining calendars as well as managing IPAWS and POS systems with accountability for revenue. The role is responsible for resolving visitor complaints maintaining the parks website social media and phone systems preparing marketing materials and processing hiring paperwork payroll and concession or agency payments.

Additional responsibilities include processing of Event and Activity permits ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and offering helpful information about the park and local community to enhance the visitor experience.

Customer Service

This position works to provide exceptional customer service as a key program quality and ensures that staff deliver accurate park and division information to visitors in person by phone mail email social media and website. Schedules personnel to meet program goals providing customer service and increasing revenue.. Follows DNR Customer Service Directive. Creates a professional image of Colorado Parks and Wildlife emphasizing the importance of a positive experience for our visitors/customers.


Budget and Accounting
Accounts for and reconciles all park budget categories. Oversees PARS and UKG functions for temporary employees. Oversees the IPAWS program for all office and retail revenue. Performs CORE SARA and OneCard functions including allocation of all OneCard transactions for plus or minus 18 employees OneCard purchases. Assures permanent employee compliance with fiscal rules. Performs duties related to and associated with park operational annual expenses of $2000000. Performs periodic audits and projections for all budget categories.

Retail Program
Works with other staff to manage this year-round program which sells around $67000.00 in annual sales. Management of the retail area including determining the necessary purchases of items for resale within budget limitations. Manages the firewood program for the Park. Performs monthly and annual inventory to meet statutory obligations and control of loss. Develops park policy and procedures to manage the program in relation to the other work units (maintenance and visitor services). Prepares monthly quarterly and annual reports for the Revenue Lead and CPW Retail Program Supervisor.
