Drama Teacher (ECTs Welcome) – Derby – January 2026

The Opportunity
A high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Derby is seeking a creative and passionate Drama Teacher to join its Performing Arts faculty from January 2026. This full-time permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Teacher to begin their teaching journey in a well-established supportive and forward-thinking environment.

What Were Looking For
We are seeking a teacher who:

• Holds QTS PGCE or will be newly qualified in 2026
• Has a strong background in Drama Theatre Studies or Performing Arts
• Can plan and deliver engaging practical lessons that inspire creativity and confidence
• Uses assessment and feedback to promote progress and develop performance skills
• Is reflective enthusiastic and keen to contribute to the wider creative life of the school

Experience directing school productions leading workshops or supporting extra-curricular activities would be an advantage.

The Role in More Detail
You will teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4 designing lessons that develop students confidence creativity and understanding of performance techniques. You will prepare students for assessments and productions encouraging them to take pride in their work and explore their individual talents.

Beyond the classroom you will contribute to the schools rich cultural life through performances theatre trips and extracurricular clubs. Youll be supported to develop your skills as a practitioner and educator within a nurturing and ambitious environment.
