Job Summary
Our client is a leading concrete construction firm with offices throughout the southeast. They are searching for an Estimator to join their growing team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in our pre-construction phase by analyzing project specifications evaluating bid specifications and drawings and providing accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our project management and business development teams to ensure competitive and precise bids contributing to the overall success of projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications
- Preparing bids works within the company guidelines concerning labor and material cost to maximize profit on projects
- Review and interpret project plans specifications and related documents
- Utilize estimating software and industry knowledge to ensure precision in calculations
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure seamless transition from estimation to project execution
- Develop lasting relationships with general contractors and responsible exporting requests for bids and quotes
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3 years of construction estimating experience
- Experience with estimating tools like PlanSwift AutoCAD or Bluebeam preferred.
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Microsoft Excel required
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
