ChemicalProcess Engineering Intern – Summer 2026

Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Chemical/Process Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 in our Bellingham location!

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest Sedron Technologies designs manufactures installs and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery Sedron Technologies works with municipal agricultural and industrial customers to process their waste into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.

We are seeking a motivated Chemical/Process Engineering Intern to support the design development and optimization of innovative systems for dairy and municipality applications. This role offers hands-on experience in process modeling plant design and R&D while working closely with a cross-functional engineering team. You will contribute to both future project designs and improvements to existing systems gaining exposure to real-world engineering challenges in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Because we design build commission and operate our technologies we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:

• Assist in heat and material balance process modeling simulation and general design activities
• Support plant layout and implementation planning
• Develop process diagrams such as Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
• Perform basic calculations for process equipment sizing such as tanks pumps and heat exchangers
• Contribute to R&D activities including lab-scale testing and evaluating theoretical process designs for commercial scale implementation
• Help analyze system challenges and support potential product development solutions
• Participate in project design reviews and documentation
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to support ongoing projects
• Communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of technicians engineers and operators
• Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving drive bringing energy and excitement to technically challenging work
• Maintain reliable attendance arriving on time and ready to contribute
• Take ownership of additional duties as needed to support Company goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree from an ABET-accredited program in Chemical Engineering Process Engineering or a related field
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills; approachable and able to work effectively in a team
• Proactive hands-on and eager to learn about different engineering disciplines and unit operations
• Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
• Must have effective verbal reading and written communication skills in the English language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Coursework in plant design thermodynamics and heat and mass transfer fluid mechanics materials science chemical reactor design and process control
• Familiarity with simulation/design tools (AspenTech Software)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Compensation for this role is between $23 - $28 hourly
• Additional pay may apply for off-shift hours off-site work or special assignments
• This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
• This role requires less than 10% travel
• In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedrons estimate of the base compensationfor this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience skills and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
