The Opportunity: Lead Unit Coordinator General Medicine & Oncology-Ellison 16
Ellison 16 is a thirty-six-bed unit devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care.

40 hours a week Day shift
(5) 8-hour shifts OR (2) 12-hour shifts and (2) 8-hour shifts
7:00 am-7:00 pm and/or 7:00 am -3:00 pm

The Unit Coordinator II serves as a lead Unit Coordinator responsible for overseeing and coordinating various administrative operational and technical functions within the unit. Provides administrative support to unit-based
and hospital-wide clinicians and staff on an inpatient unit functioning as the liaison between the patient visitors and the clinicians. Expected to effectively organize priorities complete tasks on time and manage confidential patient information. Responsible for partnering with nursing to coordinate the day-to-day patient flow including communication to key players regarding patient admissions discharges and transfers. Also expected to provide outstanding services for every customer interaction. Actual job duties may vary by department.
Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)

Manage calendars and schedules for the units Nursing Director and the unit conference room; organize and schedule interviews; coordinate and assist with scheduling staff for fit testing training sessions performance evaluations and other educational activities; document and disseminate meeting minutes; collaborate on environment of care rounds organize employee files and maintain various unit logs and lists.
Assist the Nursing Director in organizing onboarding schedules for new staff; developing schedules for various roles; performing payroll duties as assigned; tracking UKG swipes staff scheduling changes and scanning timesheets; monitoring per diem staff shift requirements and managing temporary staffing needs; ordering materials/equipment for the unit.
Maintain and manage the units digital resource sites; manage email distribution lists and unit contact list; provide technical support for hybrid staff meetings; submit tickets for system access including Epic badge access and other network systems; facilitate and maintain downtime procedures including conducting BPA computer testing.
Receive prioritize organize and manage information at the central nursing station and throughout the unit
Coordinate patient movement on and off the unit as appropriate; enter accurate and timely information about admissions discharges and transfers into the electronic medical record
Contact ancillary service departments to obtain equipment services and supplies and track their status and location
Ensure an accurate lost and found log is maintained and facilitate the process of returning patient belongings.
