Job Summary

What youll have

  • A university degree in Quantity Surveying Project Management Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle procurement from enquiry to contract award and post-award management.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC NZS 3910/3916 NEC 3/4 or similar standard forms of contract.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation execution and administration.
  • Ability to identify commercial risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the job

We are seeking a capable and resourceful Senior Contract Specialist to join our Supply Chain Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team working on complex high-impact projects across New Zealand. This role will ideally be located in Wellington New Plymouth or Christchurch.

As a Senior Contract Specialist youll play a crucial role in delivering effective contract strategies and commercial outcomes for our projects. Youll be embedded in a collaborative team and will act as a trusted advisor representing Supply Chain Management in high-level project and contract reviews. Our Supply Chain Management function encompasses purchasing contract management expediting logistics and materials management.

What youll do

  • Develop and implement effective contracting strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager with subcontracting strategies and planning.
  • Prepare review and negotiate contract documentation.
  • Lead contract formation and post-award contract administration including variations claims payments and performance management.
  • Interface directly with clients suppliers and contractors to develop robust commercial packages.
  • Monitor and report on cost and schedule impacts related to procurement activities.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and support project teams with contractual correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate registers documentation and templates.
