Job Summary

What youll have

A university degree in Quantity Surveying Project Management Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in full lifecycle procurement from enquiry to contract award and post-award management.
Strong understanding of FIDIC NZS 3910/3916 NEC 3/4 or similar standard forms of contract.
Skilled in contract negotiation execution and administration.
Ability to identify commercial risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the job

We are seeking a capable and resourceful Senior Contract Specialist to join our Supply Chain Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team working on complex high-impact projects across New Zealand. This role will ideally be located in Wellington New Plymouth or Christchurch.

As a Senior Contract Specialist youll play a crucial role in delivering effective contract strategies and commercial outcomes for our projects. Youll be embedded in a collaborative team and will act as a trusted advisor representing Supply Chain Management in high-level project and contract reviews. Our Supply Chain Management function encompasses purchasing contract management expediting logistics and materials management.

What youll do

Develop and implement effective contracting strategies.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Support the Supply Chain Manager with subcontracting strategies and planning.
Prepare review and negotiate contract documentation.
Lead contract formation and post-award contract administration including variations claims payments and performance management.
Interface directly with clients suppliers and contractors to develop robust commercial packages.
Monitor and report on cost and schedule impacts related to procurement activities.
Identify and manage commercial risks and support project teams with contractual correspondence.
Maintain accurate registers documentation and templates.
